Sometimes, when working with people with
dementia, one faces challenging situations. Some
symptoms and behaviour are difcult to approach
and can lead up to situations where persons are at
risk of getting injured. Locking a door, chair trays
or tables in front of a wheelchair or other restraints
can then be seen as a last resource. But there are
often better alternatives, that also are consistent with
Swedish law.
Our aim with this book is to inspire and give you tools to work personcentred. A personcentred care is the key to prevent dif cult situations to arise, and is also a way to develop strategies to respond to them if they occur. The book’s title is also our aim and something to strive for, Vision Zero: For Dementia Care without Restraint.
Please, read this if you are placing your order from outside Sweden!
